The high level cirrus cloud layer creates a silver filter for the sun, and these lower level clouds make the atmosphere look like something you might see on another planet in a sci-fi movie.

Tie-Dye Sky

These cirrocumulous clouds swirling around the sun make for a great tie-dyed sky. I love the sense of motion even in the still photograph.
